Cookies and browser storage

The supplied editorial pages do not need tracking cookies. Here is the distinction between website storage, a local draft and anything your browser manages independently.

What cookies do

Cookies are small values a website can ask your browser to store and return on later requests. Local storage is a separate browser feature that can retain values for a site. Either technology can support useful functions, but neither is needed for the navigation, reading or message preparation implemented in these pages.

The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript set no cookies, use no localStorage or sessionStorage, and include no analytics or advertising integrations.

Browser autofill, page restoration and clipboard history may retain information independently. Removing site cookies does not necessarily remove a downloaded file or a copied message. Use the relevant device controls for those items.

Separately managed services

Hosting infrastructure or a separately supplied consent layer may add essential service or preference storage to the deployed site. Those functions are not implemented in the supplied page script. If a live preference control is displayed, use it to review the choices and storage information associated with that service.

Optional analytics or advertising should not be introduced without updating this notice and applying any consent required by law. The pages described here do not include those optional services.

Use your browser controls

You can inspect or remove site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking cookies should not prevent the supplied reading and drafting functions from working. Blocking JavaScript disables the menu toggle, scroll effects and draft tool; direct email remains available on the contact page.

Browser controls vary, so consult your browser’s own help for site-data deletion, clipboard history and autofill settings. External sites linked from these pages set their own policies and may use different storage.
